Chatting with Cam Country at Country Summer CA

This past weekend (as many of you probably noticed on my Instagram and Instastories!), I attended Country Summer here in Sonoma County. It was well over 100 degrees, but that sure didn’t stop us from having THE best time! One of the highlights from attending this event was meeting and interviewing the lovely Cam Country! She is such a down to earth person and has the sweetest, most beautiful soul.

Read on for my interview with Cam!

1. EA: First things first, are you a whiskey girl or a wine girl?
CC: “Hmmmm, I’d say 90% of the time wine…unless the Whiskey is so delish and I can’t pass it up. To be totally honest, I would classify myself as a gin girl!”

2. EA: Which leads me to my next question, what’s your favorite cocktail?
CC: “Gin and tonic, for sure!”

3. EA: If you could record a duet with any country singer, who would it be?
CC: “Eric Church! I got to perform with him once but I would LOVE to record something with him someday. He’s such a nice guy!”

4. EA: What was it like working with Miley Cyrus?
CC: “Aw! I love that you asked me this question! Miley is such a doll and I love what she is doing right now! It was so much fun getting to meet her and work with her!”

5. EA: If you could perform at any venue which would it be?
CC: “Albert Hall in London! I’ve always wanted to perform there!”

6. EA: What’s the most challenging part of being on the road?
CC: “Hands down, being away from home, my husband, and my dogs!”

7. EA: Would you rather ride a bull in a rodeo or go sky diving?
CC: “Oh skydiving for sure! Those bull riders are no joke”

8. EA: You once said that you grew more confident about your music once you took a trip to rural Nepal and lived without electricity for a few weeks. What do you think changed?
CC: “Going there forced me to slow down and really appreciate the little things. It really made me question how Americans view time. It’s such a rat race here, and Nepal taught me that more isn’t necessarily more. You should totally go there someday, it’s such a great experience!”

9. EA: You were born and raised in the Bay Area, what’s your favorite part about the city?
CC: “Hmm, that’s tough because there are so many cool areas in SF! I do love a Giants game, but I think I’d have to say the Castro because of the LGBT community. I feel so fortunate to be from such an accepting environment. Living in Nashville, the views on equality are so different. I had a friend who was 24 and grew up in Alabama come out to her parents. Their response to her was that they would rather hear she murdered someone than to tell them she was gay. So to be from a place like SF where equality is second nature means a lot to me.

Thank you so much chatting with me, Cam! Next time you’re here, be sure and reach out so I can buy you a gin and tonic!
