When I’m working on a post that requires the entire family, things don’t always go as planned. To be totally honest, the process is usually nothing like the final photos. And in the spirit of being totally, completely real, I wanted to let you in on some of our behind the scenes, not-so-perfect photos, and throw in some tips for getting through a family photo shoot (when toddlers are involved) while I’m at it.
Tip 1: Crying WILL probably take place, so don’t fret. I always feel like Austin doesn’t behave when he knows I need him to. PS I am totally dropping a silent F-bomb in this pic.
Tip 2: Bribes DO work (sorry but it’s true). Bring along lollipops – they HELP!
Tip 3: Austin likes to do everything on his own, so when it comes to a photoshoot, we let him! This isn’t the case in our everyday lives, but in this case, it just makes things so much easier.
Tip 5: Location is key! I always try and schedule our shoots at fun places. When you’re there, make things super exciting for extra smiles!
Tip 6: Adorn your littles in shoes that are easy to take on and off. It makes things so much easier.
Tip 7: Roll with the punches…literally.
Tip 8: Austin gets HANGRY when he gets HUNGRY. I always bring snacks to keep things as smooth as possible.
Tip 9: Whenever we want Austin to look at our photographer, we point and say, “Look at the birdie on Andrea’s head!” It always works, and we even get a smile sometimes!
Tip 9: Belly laughs always come from some tickles!
Final thoughts: try not to stress about getting the perfect shot. You’d be surprised how many amazing photos come out when you take a deep breath, relax, and have fun.

I know I should not laugh but that first pictures reminds me so much of all my cousins photos – every time they take a family picture one kid or all are always crying until they get the perfect shot. Your family is beautiful God Bless
