Last weekend the ah-mazing Solage Calistoga invited us to come and stay at their beautiful wine country resort and it was nothing short of perfection. I’ve grown up in the wine country and have stayed at many places in the area, but this was hands down the nicest place we have ever been to. From the second we drove up, the staff was nothing but friendly and accommodating. We entered our room (which was actually a private bungalow!) and it was complete with its own porch, a crib for Austin, the most amazing sitting tub, a walk in shower, and two beach cruisers for us to use to use around the grounds.
We started the weekend with a bang by letting Austin run around their bocce ball court while Mark and I “tried” to get a game in (pretty impossible, lol!). From there, we headed to the pool which was simply breathtaking! Solage has so many different pools, but one was family specific, which was nice because we didn’t feel like we were disturbing anyone’s relaxing time by having a toddler running around. We enjoyed a poolside lunch using my new favorite towel by none other than The Beach People. We all enjoyed the beautiful sunshine and especially had a blast splashing around in the Insta-worthy pool.
While Austin took his daily nap, I headed to the spa for a relaxing facial. In-fact, this was such an amazing part of the trip, I’m dedicating an entire other post to it, so stay tuned!
For dinner, we headed to the on-site (and world renowned!) restaurant, Sol Bar. We never really get the chance to get dolled up as a family, so we all got dressed to the nines. Everything from the food, the service, to the ambiance, was bar-none. We got to enjoy our dinner around their outdoor firepit and sipped on some of the best wines Napa Valley had to offer, too.
All in all, it was the perfect little getaway. In fact, I loved it so much I already have another trip planned with a couple of my favorite blogger friends at the end of May.
If you’re ever in wine country, be sure to stop by (or even better – stay!) at this amazing resort. xo
