Ready, Jet, Go: My Travel Skincare Essentials

Whiskey & Lace Blog by Erika Altes - Travel Skincare EssentialsMy trip to Zihuatenejo is almost here! And while my beach dresses, sunnies, and hats are ready to go, up next on my packing list is skincare! I travel a ton for Roxy and Quiksilver, so it’s really important for me to keep my skin looking and feeling awake before-and-after flying. And after years hopping on-and-off airplanes, I’ve definitely learned what works (and what doesn’t) as far as skincare goes.

Read on for the travel beauty essentials I never leave home without!

A Hydrating Spritz
I am new to Mac’s Mineral Supercharged Water, and have already fallen in love with it. It’s not only super-hydrating, but it also keeps my skin looking fresh, dewy, and glowing. It’s a must-have for every flight – just spritz it on when your skins in need of a little refresh.

A 24-Hour Moisturizer
Korres Wild Rose 23hr Cream moisturizes, brightens, and smells like fresh roses. It’s a dream come true, repairing fine lines and discoloration and leaving skin smooth and hydrated for 24 hours! I smack some on my cheeks when we’re about to take off, and it keeps my skin moisturized and smelling yummy all day (or night!) long.

A Lightweight Tinted Moisturizer
The last thing I want to do on a flight is wear layers of makeup. Laura Mercier’s Tinted Moisturizer SPF20 keeps skin protected and radiant. It’s so lightweight, you won’t even know you’re wearing it. Plus, you can never be too cautious when it comes to protecting yourself from the sun, so lather up, dolls!

A Hydrating Lip Balm
I’ve searched high and low for the perfect lip balm, and Maybelline’s Baby Lips Lip Balm is it. My lips are always dry – and when I fly, it seems like they just get worse. This miracle product stays on for 8 hours, is never sticky, and boasts SPF 20. Bonus: it’s under $5!

Lots of Water!
While water isn’t exactly a “product,” it’s hands-down one of my most important travel essentials. As hard as it is to skip the bubbly on a flight, some good ‘ol H2O will work wonders on the skin – it’s the easiest way to keep your complexion clear and glowing in-and-out of the air (even though it’s known to cause multiple in-flight potty breaks, haha).

Do you have any must-have travel essentials? I’m always looking for new products to add to my assortment!
