Hi Loves! I’m so sorry that I’ve been MIA lately, but the good news is that I am back and ready to give you a personal update on everything that’s been going on in my life.
As some of you may or may not have seen on my Instastories last week, I have been working towards something I never thought I could accomplish – getting my California Real Estate license. This has been extremely difficult for me because test taking and school have not always been my strong suits. That said, in order to do things right (aka study my ass off!) and pass the exam, I knew my blog had to take a back seat for a couple months.
With that said, I am happy to report that all those hours paid off! I passed the state exam and am now a licensed real estate agent in California! To be completely honest though, I didn’t necessarily pass with flying colors. On my first attempt at the test, I scored a 69%, but a 70% was required to pass. I walked out of that exam room and my eyes immediately welled with tears when I opened the test results. The experience itself was so stressful and all that kept going through my head was, “Shit! I literally have to do this again!!” Needless to say, I left feeling completely defeated. It was a total bummer.
I signed up to take the test again a week later. This time I felt different. Maybe it’s because I knew what to expect as far as the environment or maybe it’s because I went in knowing that the worst that could happen is that I would fail and then try again. Whatever it was, I still managed to go in confident even after my first failed attempt. After I took the test, I walked up to get my results and instantly saw the words “CONGRATULATIONS!” on top of the page. I DID IT! My eyes welled up with happy tears, and I instantly called Mark to tell him the good news. This was one of my proudest moments.
I am so excited to start this new chapter in my life and take you all along with me. As most of you know, I am working for Sotheby’s in their Wine Country Colbert Group. I have already hit the ground running and couldn’t be happier! So If you or anyone you know is interested in buying or selling a home, please be sure and contact me. I am headed off to Vegas next week for a big Global Network Event and will be sure to give you all a behind of the scenes look at this new journey. Many of you have sent me DM’s and emails asking for some tips and tricks on passing the RE exam and I plan to do an entire post on how I accomplished my goal soon!
Now for a little inspiration from YOU! What is a goal you are currently working towards and how are you feeling about it?
