And even today with the enormous amount of growth (in-laws, kids, pets!) in our family, this has still remained a tradition.

The kids in the family have grown to absolutely love this tradition and look forward to it every year. San Francisco is such a magical place during the holidays. We love to spend time in Union Square then take a cable car down to Ghirardelli Square and enjoy some of the best chocolate around.

I hope that Austin and all of his cousins plan to carry out this tradition forever because it is honestly one of the most special memories we make throughout the year! Do you or your family have any special family traditions?  Share what you do below – I’m always looking for ideas on how to make new memories.
