Time to take wine tasting from the countryside to your couch! If you’ve been a longtime follower then you know that Wine Wednesday’s are basically an unofficial holiday. Mark and I try to squeeze in as many as we can, but as I’m sure you all know, life gets busy.
I know how much you guys look forward to Wine Wednesday and I wanted to share some ideas for you to replicate the fun on your own.
Throw on some comfy clothes before calling your crew or cozying up with your spouse and get ready to enjoy each others company. Here are some essentials to host your own, Erika-approved night at home. Cheers!
Drinking Wine & Feeling Fine
These have been my go-to wine glasses for years now — and they’re available on Amazon! If you have watched any of our Wine Wednesday Instagram lives, you’ve most likely spotted these. You can’t go wrong with the all-purpose glass to hold either your red or your white!
Wow your guests with a beautiful wine cooler to keep your whites extra fresh. If you plan to have red wine that you don’t want slightly chilled, give your cooler a second life and throw in some fresh cut flowers.
Psst! Did you know I have a wine club? Joining is like getting Wine Wednesday delivered to your front door. I send special recipes, my favorite wines of the season, and more. I’d love to see you there! Click here to find out more.
Decanters seem to make any drink look extra fancy. From wine to whiskey, a decanter is such a chic way to present your beverage of choice when hosting.
Put the “Cute” in Charcuterie
Name a better combo than wine and cheese, I’ll wait. A charcuterie board is a hosting essential year-round, but it also comes in handy for wine nights at home. From gouda to gruyere, good food will almost always put you in a good mood.
To really elevate your hosting game, it’s best to invest in quality cheese knives. This set has you covered from hard cheeses, soft cheeses, and everything in-between. I love that these go with everything.
For your non-dairy guests, throw some crackers, cashews, or candy into small snack bowls that will match your overall aesthetic. This dip tray from Crate & Barrel is another good option for fresh veggies and hummus.
Stay Cozy
My motto? Chardonnay is best served when comfortable. Welcome your Wine Wednesday guests to join you in their favorite pajama set. These are so cute and have such good reviews.
If you’re looking for a more affordable pair, I own these pajamas and can vouch for how soft they are. They come in the prettiest colors and are under $45!
There’s nothing better than cuddling up on the couch with a warm blanket — it’s a game or wine night staple. The best part about hosting at home is you can reach for your chunkiest throw blanket before unwinding with your friends.
If you’re having a group of friends over, encourage them to throw on their favorite slippers to sip the night away. Tip: Make sure to get a picture of everyone in their pajamas and slippers before the night is over.
