Happy April! I’m back with a fresh edition of In Season, and I hope you love this editorial-style roundup just as much as I do. One of the highlights of this month was connecting with those of you who attended I Wanna Brunch With Somebody. I can’t fully express how much that event meant to me—it truly filled my cup, inspired me, and gave me a chance to step back and take in the impact this incredible community has had on my life. I’m endlessly grateful for all of you.
Inside this issue, you’ll find a tasty weeknight dinner recipe, home refresh ideas, and stylish inspiration for what to wear to a Kentucky Derby party. I’ve also included a playlist inspired by the brunch event (trust me, you’ll want to listen!). Plus, Mark is sharing a few homes he has listed in wine country. I hope you enjoy it!
Featured Recipe

Looking for an easy yet flavorful weeknight dinner recipe? These Mediterranean chicken meatball bowls have been a go-to in our house as of late, and they don’t take much effort to put together! Mark and I love them just as much as our kids do, making them a total crowd pleaser. They also make great leftovers!
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground chicken
- 1 egg
- 2–3 tbsp finely diced red onion
- 2 tbsp fresh dill, chopped
- 1–2 tbsp fresh mint, chopped
- 1/2–1 tsp onion powder
- Salt + pepper
- Optional: 1/4 cup breadcrumbs (totally optional—I skipped and it worked)
Instructions
- Mix everything together gently (don’t overwork it).
- Roll into small meatballs (about golf ball-ish).
- Let them sit in the fridge for a few hours — this helps them firm up and hold shape.
- Heat a cast iron pan over medium heat with olive oil.
- Let the pan get hot first (this matters).
- Add meatballs and let them sit to get a good golden crust (3–4 min).
- Turn and cook all sides until browned and cooked through (another ~6–8 min total).
- You can lower heat and cover for a couple minutes at the end if needed.
Tzatziki Ingredients
- 1 cup sour cream (or Greek yogurt)
- 1/2 cucumber, grated + squeezed really well
- 1–2 tbsp fresh dill
- Splash red wine vinegar
- Salt + pepper
- Pinch onion powder
Mix these ingredients and chill for at least 15 minutes.
Build Your Bowls
- Rice (white or jasmine is perfect)
- Chicken meatballs
- Big spoon of tzatziki
- Diced cucumber + tomatoes
- Pickled red onion
- Optional: romaine, pita, feta, olives

Home Spotlight

A little home refresh goes a long way—these simple upgrades make things feel clean, calm, and pulled together.
- A friend showed me this doormat and I knew I had to have it. It’s the perfect addition to our front porch!
- How fun is this plaid oven mitt? Pair it with a Dutch oven or some freshly baked bread and gift it to someone you love (it would also make a thoughtful Mother’s Day gift.)
- I’m looking forward to hosting friends and family in our backyard this spring and summer, and this serving platter is calling my name.
- I was shocked to see where this LED table lamp is from. It’s giving Serena & Lily vibes without the high price point.
- Spring is all about resetting and reorganizing, and these wire baskets are a must for keeping spaces tidy. Use them in your pantry, laundry room, or in your kids’ spaces.
- This cleaning brand is somewhat new to me, and I’m definitely intrigued! I love the Fruit & Vegetable Wash but also think this set is ideal for those who want to reboot their cleaning routine.
Playlist of the Month

Finds I’m Loving

A few little delights—things I own and love or have been eyeing lately. From everyday essentials to small splurges, just the kind of pieces that make day-to-day feel a bit more special.
- This gingham beach blanket is en route to our house. The print caught my eye from the get-go and I think it would be great to tote along to Tahoe or the baseball field. You can use code WHISKEYANDLACE for 15% off!
- This seashell trinket dish is just plain fun. Set it on an entryway table or nightstand for a handy place to set keys or jewelry.
- I love when I come across a new brand that instantly hooks me, and Arey has done just that. This day-to-night duo combats greys and supports thicker, fuller hair.
- I plan to restock my makeup bag with this eyeliner as soon as I run out. It’s the perfect shade of black (not too dark) and it doesn’t smudge whatsoever. Plus, it’s very easy to apply, even for beginners!
- We have a bocce ball court in our backyard and I’m soooo tempted to update our set with this cute one.
- Treat yourself to this pair of under $50 earrings (which would go with everything!)
- These block heeled sandals would be perfect for a beach or Euro vacation. The details!
