Summer should feel carefree and easy. Sometimes, though, when you’re putting together outfits, it can feel anything but! When it’s hot and sticky, you might feel like nothing is comfortable, or you can’t seem to find the sweet spot between stylish and casual. That’s where these easy summer outfits come in.
I have a handful of formulas I lean on during summer that make it a breeze to get dressed. These range from laid-back looks that feature overalls or denim shorts to more elevated ensembles that are fit for dinner dates or Euro vacations!
If you want to stress a little less about what you’re wearing and spend more time enjoying your plans, take a look at the following easy summer outfit ideas for inspiration.
Easy Summer Outfit Ideas
White Jeans and a White Tank Top

Summer is the best season for wearing all-white. There are so many ways you can put together a monochromatic outfit, but I’ve been loving this combo.
A wide-leg silhouette in a cropped length feels so fitting when it’s warm out, as they’re just not as dark or heavy as your usual pair of blue jeans! Top it with a cute tank top in the same color, and you have a pretty combination.
Tip: Opt for a top with interesting details, like scalloped edges or embroidery, to really make the look stand out.
Maxi Dress and Sandals

Maxi dresses are made for summer, and there’s truly a style for every occasion. If you want something more casual, choose dresses made of stretchy cotton fabrics or T-shirt material. Dressing up? There are plenty of options, whether you like ruffles, lace, or silk!
As far as easy summer outfits go, I love a soft cobalt blue maxi, which is easy enough to wear day to day, but a piece of cake to dress up with the right shoes and jewelry.
Denim Shorts and a T-Shirt
Sometimes simple just translates to the most classic! It doesn’t get easier than jean shorts and a nice T-shirt. I have a handful of favorite white T-shirts and tanks, but I think there are so many ways to adjust this timeless summer uniform outside of blue and white.
Swap your go-to tee for stripes, cherry red, or chocolate brown shade (all so trendy right now) or experiment with different styles of denim shorts. Longer Bermuda cuts have been everywhere this year, as well as shorts with unique pockets and details that give them a little style edge over others.
Overalls and Slide Sandals

Another fun way to incorporate denim into your summer rotation is with overalls. They’re such a playful look and they’re so easy to throw on. You can style them over a tank top, T-shirt, or a cute bralette. Then, add layered necklaces, bracelets, and a cute pair of earrings to make the outfit feel more interesting.
My fave shoes to wear with them are slides or Birkenstock clogs. All together, you have a super simple but stylish outfit to wear all season.
A Romper or Jumpsuit
Rompers and jumpsuits are so easy! It’s really a one-and-done outfit that doesn’t take much effort to put together. With a cute pair of white sneakers or even something more colorful, you get a full ensemble in minutes.
You also have so many choices when it comes to the type of romper. You can try a denim one, something made of linen, or a more sporty, athletic look. Of course, a romper and a jumpsuit can both be dressed up with heels or sandals, but for a super simple combination, sneakers are always a winning option. This is especially true if you’re traveling. You’ll be comfortable on your feet and stylish!
A Matching Set

Similar to a romper look (but a little easier to shimmy out of) is a matching set. It’s easy since the pieces are already paired and ready to go! But you have so many variations to choose from, whether you’re a skirt gal or someone who appreciates a fabulous pair of shorts. I recommend having one option that’s a little more sophisticated and one that’s relaxed for lounging around at home.
Linen Pants and Linen Top
The key to staying cool in serious heat or mega humidity is possible not just through the length or cut of your clothes, but the fabric. Linen sits at the top of the list when it comes to materials that don’t feel stuffy or keep you sweaty. The look of loose linen pants with a linen top (think crop tops, high-neck tanks, or even tailored waistcoats) is so chic in my eyes!
Satin Slip Dress and Slides

It doesn’t get prettier than a slip dress! The best part is, they’re ridiculously comfortable and look like they took a lot of effort, but they’re so easy to slide on. This type of dress is the first thing I reach for when it comes to summer date nights. They’re also great if you need a wedding guest dress (just choose a fun color!) or something that’s easy to pack but classy for special occasions on vacation. Add espadrille slides and you have the epitome of a chic warm-weather look!
