If there’s one thing I love to indulge in at the end of a long day, it’s a good cocktail. There’s also nothing better than marking a special occasion or family gathering with a homemade drink. Plus, it’s no secret that I have a deep love for all things wine (I do live in wine country after all.)
For those three reasons, it just made sense to incorporate a home bar into our space, and I have to say that I’m so happy we went for it.
Whether you have your own happy hour space or you’re simply looking for ways to spruce up your bar cart, these home bar decor ideas will give you a good dose of inspo. If there’s one big takeaway, it’s to have fun with this area in your home. It’s all about entertaining and enjoying yourself, so be sure the space gives off that feel.
Oh, and if you love keeping things as neat and tidy as I do, I’m also including a handful of home bar organization ideas as well. Cheers!
Home Bar Decor Ideas
The Art of Mixology
Every good bartender needs a few cocktail books handy. This is one of our favorites, and it just so happens to have a really cute cover.
Death & Co. Cocktails
This is another go-to cocktail book in our house. It’s filled with everything from the classics to more unique takes.
Wood Cutting Board
Having a cutting board near your bar is always a good idea, but I also think it’s cute to set one out on your countertop or a floating shelf.
Wine Bottle Holder
This wine holder has enough slots to hold five bottles and makes every wine tasting experience feel all the more special.
Marble Footed Serving Board
Do everything from slicing limes to mixing drinks on this marble serving board. Once you’re done, it’s the perfect spot to house any of your drink making essentials.
Glass Serving Tray
I couldn’t pass this glass serving tray by—it has such a timeless look and would feel so special to pull out when hosting family and friends.
Square Marble Bowl
Set anything from dried citrus to olives or bar snacks in this little marble bowl.
Marble Mortar and Pestle Set
For those times when you need to muddle ingredients for a drink, this mortar and pestle set will come in handy. It scores bonus points from me for being aesthetically pleasing.
Brass Picture Frame
Picture frames are a decor staple, and who’s to say you can’t incorporate a couple in your home bar? I’ve been eyeing this dainty gold find, which is from Target of course.
Home Bar Essentials
Metal Bar Coasters
These gold coasters give off major speakeasy vibes, which I absolutely love for a moody home bar experience.
Crystal Bitters Bottle
I’m a big sucker for decor that doubles as something practical, which is definitely the case when it comes to this bitters bottle.
Hatch Cocktail Shaker
Of course every home bar needs a quality cocktail shaker. I’d recommend going with one that’s pretty enough to leave out!
Nick & Nora Glass
We leave some of our favorite glassware out on the floating shelves in our bar area, which not only comes in handy but also looks so festive. These Nick and Nora glasses would be great to have on hand for a variety of drinks.
Brandy Snifter Glass
This is another classic glass you can’t go wrong with. I love that you can buy a single glass or purchase them as a set of six.
Double Old Fashioned Glasses
And of course every well-stocked bar needs some old fashioned glasses! Double their use by using them as juice or water glasses if you’re low on storage space.
Flowerfetti
These colorful dried flowers can be used as garnishes on cocktails—an easy way to level up your serving game!
Crystal Mixing Glass
Whether you’re prepping drinks for a crowd or want to batch-make a couple cocktails at one time, this glass offers the perfect spot for mixing.
Woven Ice Bucket
Hosting on a hot summer day? Make sure your drinks stay ice cold by utilizing this adorable bucket. After your get-together, set it on a shelf in your bar area to serve as decor.
Home Bar Organization
When it comes to bar organization, so many things will depend on your exact layout and how much space you’re working with. However, I wanted to share a few items that I have and love as well as some new finds that caught my eye. These picks would add a useful touch to any bar area—and a bonus is that they’re actually cute to look at!
Wire Storage Basket
We have wire storage baskets just like this inside of our bar cabinets to keep bottles of liqueur organized.
Wooden Lazy Susan
If you’re struggling to keep your space tidy, opt for a lazy susan. They are so much easier to use since they rotate (so you don’t have to reach far to grab what you need!)
Copper Lazy Susan
This copper version was also too cute not to include—I’d honestly set it on my countertop as well as use it for serving!
Handwoven Basket
Keep your fresh fruit confined in a cute way with this handwoven basket (which comes in three colors.)
Acrylic Organizers
Trying to tidy up while sticking to a budget? Acrylic organizers are also great, and these can be sourced right from Amazon.
