Spring Bedding Ideas to Embrace This Season and Instantly Refresh Your Bedroom

neutral bedroom decor ideas

Spring is waking up, and I’m so ready to make changes around my home that shake off the thick, cozy aesthetics of winter and embrace the lighter days ahead. Although there are a lot of ways to celebrate this new season, I’m starting with giving my bedroom a refresh—specifically my bed.

I find it’s one of the quickest ways to make a difference in your home when you’re moving into a new time of year. And if you’re one of my Whiskies, you already know how much I value my bedding! Whether it’s making my bed feel like one in a luxe hotel room or testing out new bedding, I take it seriously.

Like fall, spring sits in between more dramatic seasons. It’s not too cold and not too hot, so you need spring bedding ideas to match. It’s also a great chance to put away your winter bedding and break out the patterns, prints, and materials that are reminiscent of spring, whether you love floral bedding or have been looking forward to the day you can break out linen!

I have a few favorite spring bedding looks I turn to, and a handful of brands that never let me down when it comes to quality and style. Both Quince and Boll & Branch offer duvets, sheet sets, pillows, quilts, coverlets, and more that will work well with your sleeping needs for the next few months. Pottery Barn, Crate & Barrel, and McGee and Co. are a few of the other places I often keep an eye on for options, too.

So, if you’re also ready to upgrade your spring bedding, scroll on for my top picks!

Spring Bedding Ideas for an Instant Refresh

Spring Bedding Swaps to Consider

Quince Classic Organic Percale Scallop Duvet Cover

One of the most impactful pieces of bedding is your comforter or duvet. These instantly spruce up your bedroom and change the vibe from winter to spring. There are plenty of options out there, but the wavy edges on this scalloped duvet cover from Quince have won me over. It’s such a cheerful and elegant choice! It comes in four pretty colors, and has matching shams available so your bed can look chic and well put together.

Boll & Branch Signature Hemmed Sheet Set

This is one of my all-time favorite sheet sets that we use in our bedroom year-round. With winter on its way out, this is the perfect alternative since these sheets are still soft, but not too stuffy. You won’t overheat in them, and I’ve found that they actually get softer every time I wash them! I have them in sky blue, but they come in 18 colors, plus a bunch of cute patterns, like this light pink floral one and this blue garden print.

Quince Organic Ribbed Cotton Coverlet Set

When I think of spring and summer bedding, I think breathable. It’s time to put away the flannel sheets and ultra-warm comforters and replace them with lighter materials that keep you comfortable but cool as the weather changes. This coverlet is made of 100% organic cotton, which is one of the most breezy fabrics you can curl up under! The subtle texture is a nice touch and something that’s a little different, especially if your room has a quieter, neutral color palette.

Crate & Barrel Aire Natural European Flax Linen Bedding Set

If you’re fully ready to embrace linen, it doesn’t get more luxurious than European flax, which Crate & Barrel has no shortage of. My favorite thing about linen bedding sets is that they look both laidback and elevated. The soft, slightly wrinkled aesthetic gives them a coastal charm and adds to that comfy, “slept-in” feel. They also naturally regulate your temperature, which is a must when the weather is all over the place. The Mist Blue is my personal favorite, but you can find them in classic white, sage, olive, and many other shades.

Pottery Barn Retreat Essential Percale Flat Sheet

Okay, I know that the flat sheet is a controversial topic! Some people love them, some people hate them. Regardless of where you fall, I think it’s a must for spring and in guest bedrooms (your visitors can decide if they want it or not!). It adds a nice extra layer for chillier spring days, and it’s a lighter option to cover yourself with when days are warmer. This flat sheet from Pottery Barn is made from soft percale and is truly a staple for any linen closet.

Quince Premium Down Alternative Pillow

If you have anyone in your family with allergies, Quince’s down alternative pillows are phenomenal. They feel just as plush and fluffy as the standard, but won’t cause sniffles. But depending on what you prefer sleeping on, they have premium down options as well. All of Quince’s pillows come at much more affordable price points than other brands out there. You can also pick between three firmness levels, so you can truly customize a bed setup that helps you get rest all season long.

Boll & Branch Lightweight Bed Blanket

Nothing ties a bed together like a soft, stylish throw blanket! I absolutely adore the options from Boll & Branch, whether it’s the cozy Waffle Bed Blanket or this lightweight, woven option that works best for this season and beyond. Not only is this one the brand’s most breathable option, but it’s also one of the easiest to fold neatly or drape creatively on your bed. The fabric is so fluid that no matter how it’s left in the morning, it’ll still look good!

McGee & Co. Pinstripe Bolster Pillow

As your final touch for a spring bed, sprinkle on some throw pillows! I love this cute striped bolster pillow as well as these 100% linen pillows from McGee & Co., which come in earthy neutrals and a few stylish blue tones. The former adds dimension and texture to your bed, and its interesting shape is a little more unique. The latter is timeless enough to work for really any season, but the linen makes them feel fitting for warmer days.
