The 7 Most Comfortable Bras and Best Bra Brands From Someone Who Has Tried Way Too Many

the best bras

I often get asked by my lovely Whiskies for bra recommendations. As someone who has tried (what seems like) hundreds of bras over the years and gone through my own breast reduction, finding the most comfortable bras and bra brands that cater to my needs hasn’t been easy. I’ve experienced different bra sizes, found what does (and doesn’t) work, and luckily discovered that some great bras really do exist—promise!

Although it can be frustrating, I try to have fun with bra shopping! If you know me, you know I was “blessed” with big boobs. They were painful as heck, and I ended up having a reduction. Along the way, I learned a lot about finding the right bra and how to avoid the ones that you end up burying in the back of your underwear drawer. You know the ones—they dig into your sides or shoulders, look frumpy, and make you feel uncomfy all day long.

Not only have I tried tons of bras, but I’ve been different sizes too, from DD to B, so I have a pretty good understanding of bras that stand out from the rest, and those you need to avoid.

I also know the importance of keeping it fun. After my surgery, I now call my boobs my nip-naps (lol!) No matter what you call yours, they deserve to be treated with love, and sometimes humor is part of that. Laughter is the best medicine, and it makes the whole bra shopping process feel less stressful. I’ll try to keep things light and easy in this guide, too!

Whether you’re looking for bras for bigger busts, comfortable sports bras, wireless styles, or generally the best bra brands you can shop from, I have you and your nip-naps covered!

Most Comfortable Bras I Love Wearing

Best Strapless Wireless Bra: Soma Enbliss Wireless Strapless Bra

 Soma Enbliss Wireless Strapless Bra

I wear this bra all the time, and it’s SO incredibly comfortable. Even though it doesn’t have straps or an underwire, I find it still gives you an amazing amount of lift and support. Like the next Enbliss option you’ll see on this list, this one is smooth and seamless, so it’s great for tees and thinner shirts as it doesn’t show any lines. It’s my number-one bra recommendation that I’ve tried and worn for years. It’s also the one my Whiskies are most grateful to learn about!

Sizes: 32–42 band, A–G cup

Price: $65

Colors: 3; Pale sand, warm amber, and black

Best Wireless Bra with Straps: Soma Enbliss Wireless Bra

Soma Enbliss Wireless Bra

You’ve probably read my Soma bra review, and if you haven’t, just know that many of my ride-or-dies come from this brand, including the Enbliss Wireless bra. It’s another one of the bras my Whiskies and I swear by year after year. This specific wireless bra from the brand fits like a glove and is perfectly smooth for wearing under T-shirts. The straps add that little bit of extra support if you need it or worry about bras sliding down—the worst!

Sizes: 32–46 band, A–DDD cup

Price: $55

Colors: 17 options, from your classic neutrals to hot pink!

Best Everyday Bra: EBY Relief Bra

EBY Relief Bra

This one might be a little more spendy, but it’s worth every penny. Mostly because it’s truly a bra you can wear for any occasion and stay comfortable. It’s wireless and seamless, but keeps everything lifted and smooth. EBY also has a more extensive range of sizes, which I deeply appreciate! Our bodies are changing all the time, and they should be respected and catered to no matter what we’re going through. The material is also super soft.

Sizes: XS–2XLDD

Price: $63

Colors: 10, including wine red, floral print, taupe, and black

Best Underwire Bra: Soma Embraceable Perfect Coverage Bra

Soma Embraceable Perfect Coverage Bra

If underwire makes you want to run for the hills, I get it. They can be so painful, and some bad versions have definitely ruined their reputation overall. I felt the same about underwire, until I tried this Perfect Coverage Bra from Soma. No wires prodding you all day, no weird bulges or lines sticking out, and it has adjustable straps! It was hard to believe, but these features are what earned it a spot on my list of favorite bras. The deeper neckline makes it perfect for dresses and lower-cut tops.

Sizes: 32–42 band, A–DDD cup

Price: $55

Colors: 12; including beige, pink, black, and floral prints

Best Breathable Bra: EBY Support Bralette

EBY Support Bralette

Sweaty nip-naps are no joke! Whether you’re constantly on the go or just a sweaty gal (no shame, ever), it’s essential that your go-to bras are breathable. This bralette from EBY, first of all, has a mesh panel on the back, which is one of the best inventions I’ve ever seen for a bra. It’s wireless, but straps and flocking on the sides mean it won’t be slipping and sliding around when you wear it.

Sizes: XS—2XLDD

Price: $53

Colors: 6; beige, black, white, tan, moss green, light pink

Best One-Size Bra: Neiwai Barely Zero Anchored Cup Classic Bra

Neiwai Barely Zero Anchored Cup Classic Bra

This seamless bra feels kinda magical. Neiwai is a relatively new brand on my radar, and for really good reasons. Many of its bras come in one size that’s made to fit all bodies and boobs. It stretches and creates a smooth finish, so you can wear it with almost anything. After hearing good things from friends and noticing that the brand has so many highly-rated bras, I figured it’s time to try! Whether you like the look of this thicker-strapped bra or want thin straps (or cute wavy styles), Neiwai has it—and has made them all comfortable.

Sizes: One size

Price: $39

Colors: 4; Beige, egg white, icy purple, and black

Best Bra for Small Boobs: Pepper Zero-G Wirefree Lift Up Bra

Pepper Zero-G Wirefree Lift Up Bra

Pepper is a brand known for making bras for those of us on the smaller side! I wanted to include an option for them since they focus especially on this size range. If you can’t stand underwire, this wireless option is ideal. It’s supportive, offers coverage, and is built for people who have smaller boobs. It also gives you a nice little lift! I think it’s important to have brands on your radar that are niche, as they’re great about really catering to your needs and understanding the fit your body requires!

Sizes: 30–42 band, A, AA, and B cups

Price: $65

Colors: 6 shades of different neutrals

Best Bra Brands to Add to Your Drawer

These are some of my all-time favorite bra brands that I always turn to. I hope you find something you love!

  • Soma. Soma carries some of the best, most comfortable bra styles—three of which are my favorites and always in my rotation. The brand has such a good range of sizes, cuts, and styles, whether you need a sports bra, a reliable strapless bra, or something a little lacy.
  • EBY. EBY says its bras and underwear feel like nothing, which is exactly what we all want! Comfort and support without the pain. Not only are they comfy, but many are breathable too!
  • Neiwai. These bras have been on my list to try! I’m fascinated by the brand’s one-size-fits-all ethos and focus on comfort. The rave reviews speak for themselves, and I can’t wait to add one to my collection!
  • Organic Basics. For ultra-breathable bras (as well as underwear) look to Organic Basics. The brand has some of the most comfortable bralettes in a bunch of colors. They also do loungewear!
  • CUUP. If you want a wide range of sizes and color options, CUUP is the one. Its mesh bras and scoop-neck styles look sexy but feel comfortable on. They go up to band size 50 and H cup.
  • Pepper. Calling all ladies with small boobs! Pepper makes bras for all gals with small boobs, no matter their shape. It does sizes AA, A, and B, and band sizes up to 42.
  • Amazon. While you have to do a little digging, Amazon is a treasure trove. It has plenty of great bras, and I got my much-loved zip-up sports bras from here to wear when I was recovering post-op.
